During our implementation of the Scholars program in refugees’ settlements and among urban refugees, Mbeleni was challenged to discover that one of her  scholars was HIV Positive. Through her networks, the child was referred to Mulago pediatric Clinic, and with consent from the parents, a Mbeleni staff was the contact person.   Mbeleni gained a lot of experience in referral systems, psychosocial support and career guidance as we monitored and counselled this scholar until he completed his various education levels.
